FEMALE VOCALIST and LEAD GUITAR needed for a short string of concerts in November for BECK SONG READER with THE PERFECTLY VIOLENT DREAM. Music covers a wide range of styles from Rock to Psych Pop, to Tin Pan Alley and Country. Looking for singer to sing back-up as well as lead on a handful of songs. No drinking during performances or rehearsals please
THREE PERFORMANCES:
-Friday November 14th @ Fitzgerald's Houston (downstairs)
-Saturday November 15th in Austin (Venue: TBA)
-Sunday November 16th @ Georgetown Historical Gothic Church (in partnership with Georgetown Art Center)
Must be available for all shows, willing to travel to Austin.
PAY:
Each show pays $100. (Lunch & Dinner will be provided Saturday November 15 and 16). And we are always looking to add more shows. Possibly another show Saturday afternoon in Houston @ Cactus Music.
This is an unofficial show and not associated with Beck Hansen.
REHEARSALS:
We'll meet as often as we can (perhaps twice a week until the week of the performance, at which time we'll begin rehearsing daily (day or night, which ever works for everyone) between November 9 -13
AUDITIONS:
Please contact Bradley to arrange an audition time for Sunday August 16th, between 2:30-5:30pm. (Audition space is T.B.A. - near Washington/Montrose).

THE PERFECTLY VIOLENT DREAM was the first band in the world in give a public performance of three-time grammy award-winning artist, Beck Hansen's SONG READER. Performed at The Mohawk in Austin, The SONG READER show premiered just one week after the sheet music was released in December xxxx. BECK'S SONG READER in an unconventional "album" that was not recorded but, rather, released as vintage-style, turn-of-the-century sheet music -- harkening back to the nostalgic era of home-play music, before radios and phonographs.
Since it's release, SONG READER has inspired several "D.I.Y." concerts across the globe. There is no definitive SONG READER album and each concert is a unique experience that brings people together to hear an "album" the way people did before there were. . . albums. The music is diverse and the song collection covers a range of styles that span the 20th century.
THE PERFECTLY VIOLENT DREAM is music collective of rotating musicians lead by Bradley Dean Whyte. Whyte's debut psych-pop album, "The Emperor's New Tea" featured collaborations with drummer Anton Fig (David Letterman/CBS Orchestra) and Vinnie Zummo (Joe Jackson's lead guitarist). Whyte's version of Beck's "Do We? We Do" was ranked among the best Song Reader interpretations on Vulture.com and Diffuser.fm.
